Comet C/2025 K1 (ATLAS)Comet C/2025 K1 (ATLAS)
These are a couple of the brightest comets in the sky right now with a few interesting details. C/2025 K1 (ATLAS) recently broke apart, now with two nuclei clearly visible in the closer detail, a single frame from a longer sequence. Comet C/2025 K1 (ATLAS)Comet C/2025 K1 (ATLAS) It's not a background star; it appears in every frame in the same place while the comet moves in front of the background stars.
Comet C/2025R2 (SWAN)Comet C/2025R2 (SWAN)Comet C/2025R2 (SWAN)
The other one, C/2025 R2 (SWAN) shows no obvious tail in these images but the greenish coma is clear. The image also includes two distant galaxies: NGC 7537 and NGC 7541 in the upper left.
